New technology provides an economically viable way to extract and reuse battery metals from scrap lithium-ion batteries. For that, we are able to purchase and procure large amounts of material from sources that traditionally pay to dispose of them to feed the operations of new recycling plants across the United States.
A retail store we are consulting with has been paying $200 per shipment plus an additional two dollars per pound to dispose of their scrap batteries. Over the course of the year they are paying $26,400 to dispose of 12 pallets per year. Once moved over, we cover their shipping and they earn money on scrap lithium batteries turning what was once a cost for the business into a revenue stream – a $29,400 per year benefit per store, or $2,450 per 1,000 lb. pallet.
